Jeffrey J. Bilyk - Creator/Host
Jeff started his EMS career in the late 90's working as an EMT-B in Michigan outside Detroit while also attending classes at the University of Windsor. After having to leave during the border crisis that ensued on 9/11 he worked in related positions including ambulance and police dispatch before becoming a Regional Manager for the Canadian Red Cross overseeing the Windsor, Chatham, and Sarnia branches. He finally returned to EMS in Ontario after completing his Primary Care Paramedic diploma. He has worked in both land and air environments in multiple provinces before finally setting back down in SW Ontario where he works as an Advanced Care Paramedic and Acting Supervisor. He is also a PCP & ACP Preceptor, a member of his services CRT (a public safety unit), and the Director of Media Relations for WRAPP, the local Paramedic Association. He works for CPER - the Centre for Paramedic Education & Research (Base Hospital) providing a variety of functions including QA and Education. In addition Jeff works for the Ministry of Health Emergency Health Services Branch as an Inspector on the Ambulance Service Review Team. In what little free time is left in his day he also owns a health and safety consulting company and a coffee roasting company.
Andrew Burns - Host
Andrew has been a paramedic in Ontario's air ambulance system for the last 10 years. He has had the privilege to work across Ontario on fixed wing, rotor wing and land ambulances. He started his career in air ambulance providing care to rural and remote northern Ontario. In the last 3 years he has been based out of the GTA on a critical care land ambulance. Recently he has taken on the challenge of being a clinical practice leader, providing continuing professional development and initial education to critical care paramedics across Ontario.
Michael Turconi - Host
Mike Turconi is an Italian army SOF veteran who served as an assaulter and special operations combat medic with the 9th regiment Col Moschin (army tier 1). He deployed multiple times to Iraq in support of operation “Inherent Resolve”, including the battle for the liberation of Mosul from ISIS in 2017. After separation from service Mike relocated to Canada where he works as a flight paramedic and consultant on military and tactical medicine for government agencies and private entities. Most recently he participated to the humanitarian response in Ukraine with the NGOs Team Rubicon and Global Response Management. Mike holds a BSc in paramedic studies and is completing a MSc in austere critical care.
